"Healthcare Delivery/Participatory Models" Instructor in Medicine Weill Cornell Medical College Overview: As we work to improve access to health care worldwide, we must consider how that care is delivered and how we can make it available to everyone who needs it. In this lecture, we look broadly at health care systems and the science behind quality improvement as a mechanism to improve outcomes. Improvement Advisors, committed to improving health care delivery, look at how health systems can be optimized using existing resources to move them toward care which is safe, effective, timely, patient centered, accessible and affordable. This often means taking a critical look at the whole system to understand where process improvement is needed. Studying particular cases of health care delivery improvement in South Africa, Ghana, and Malawi, we will better understand how health care improvement can be approached for large scale populations.
